Abstract
This paper discusses the most important ideologies and ideas of the Islamic groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, Salafism, Ansar al-Shari'a, and others, which have recently emerged in Libya and which has influenced the course of events in it after 17 February, 2011. It also discusses the most important personalities who have influenced the development of these groups .
The study further discusses the transformation of these moderate groups from initially calling towards moderation, to current extremist rivalry between them, aided by new findings not previously discussed, based on testimonies and personal meetings with the influential figureheads of these groups. Furthermore, it presents the observations and testimonies of the scholars and important personalities of the reconciliation committees, which have recently emerged to reconcile the contending factions .
